MAKER: CoroCarft by Coro Fanfare
CONDITION: Excellent
MEASUREMENTS:  BROOCH: 2 1/2 X 2 inches  NECKLACE: 16 inches DESIGN PIECE: 3 X 2 inches CLIP-ON EARRINGS: 1 1/4 X 1 1/4 inches

Just looking at this set is like a breath of Spring air.  The colors of Sapphire Blue, Rose Pink and Citrine Yellow, flowers are perfectly highlighted by Light Amethyst Lavender, Dark Topaz, Dark Sapphire Blue and White Crystal rhinestones.  The shapes used in this set are, marquise or navette, round, pear and baguette.

I found the name for this design, Fanfare brooch and earrings, in a 1955 Coro ad entitled "The Perfect Touch for Every Spring Fashion - Coro Jewelry" featured on page 116 of the Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 by Julia C. Carroll.  On page 199 a very similar 1955 ad features a set with the same flower and color combination called Honore and then on page 121 the same flowers and color combination are featured on a set called Miramar in a 1956 ad.  I believe the pieces were designed to be interchangeable.

This parure appears to have never been worn.  The plating is heavy and golden and the rhinestones are all present, bright and radiant.  This set is highly collectible and very hard to find.  Locating the brooch or earring or necklace to put together the set is almost impossible, but to find the whole set in this condition truly is rare.  This set is a collectors dream.
